Want a sure way to make sure we DON'T review your book? Send multiple messages... first send a press release, then a couple of weeks later, forward the press release to me as a reminder. Then send me another email asking me if I'd gotten the previous emails. Go ahead. You can guarantee I won't review your book.
Not to depress you, but according to R.R. Bowker, 172,000 new titles were published in 2005. We here at berniE-zine publish 3-5 reviews every two months. Check the math. There's only so many books we can review each year.
We have therefore instituted the following policies regarding selection of books for reviewing on berniE-zine:
We do NOT review e-books or self-published books. Period. Emails assuring us that you are the next John Grisham will not persuade us otherwise.
Press releases and announcements only will be accepted via email at berniezineNOSPAM@yahoo.com (remove the NOSPAM before using the email address). Reviews are written at the discretion of berniE-zine staff. If we are interested in your book, we will contact you to request a review copy. DO NOT SEND EMAILS TO ASK ME IF I RECEIVED YOUR PREVIOUS EMAIL. We receive hundreds of email per month. IF WE WANT TO REVIEW YOUR BOOK WE WILL NOTIFY YOU.
Books Noted: Books not reviewed by berniE-zine "may" be featured on our front page in the "Books Noted" section for at least one month. If we think it will interest our readers, we will try to list it.
Book Give-aways: From time to time, berniE-zine will host a drawing for free books. If you are interested in promoting your book by providing a give-away copy, let us know via the email address above.
berniE-zine does not accept unsolicited reviews, even if they are offered free of charge. Believe it or not, some authors send reviews of their own books under an assumed name.
